DSCN3724 300x225 Remembering... Memorial Day is the day we recognize those who died in the service of our country. We don’t know all their stories, but we do know that each one was known by God. God is the creator of each one, and is the one who mapped out their lives. Some followed His will and His leadership in their lives. Others never knew Him or lived for Him. We are thankful for each one. Each gave their all.

We remember too the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross so that all who call upon His name can have eternal life in Heaven.  We give God the glory for seeing our nation through difficult and turbulent times. May we never forget the sacrifice made so that we may live that abundant life spoken of in the Bible in John 10:10 (KJV):

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

May we take comfort in the truths of God’s Word:

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
