Hello!
Thanks for commenting! I agree. I think the fault lies in the "feel-good" mentality we foster from the pulpit. A commitment to Christ requires accepting both good and bad at His hand. The things we hate are meant to edify us and draw us near to Him. If we keep our focus on obeying Him and pleasing Him, then we will be less likely to murmur against Him. - Linda

I still think it's funny that people think that just because they are Christians they are going to have an easy time. Did Jesus have an easy time? Wasn't he the 'utimate christian' if you will? God uses these times to refine us, hone our skills, mold and shape us. Thank the Lord for hard times! Praise Him! The truth is if you look at your life and you are not suffering, that's when you should be sad and fearful. Ask yourself, "What am I doing for Christ?" Chances are that you could be doing more.

Hello!
Thanks for chiming in. You are so right! If there is no punishment for sin, then where is the deterrent? Even parents realize that correcting their children is essential to foster a change of behavior. How easily we frail humans can be persuaded to give up all we believe with a simple lie. Folks, you have to read the Word regularly to protect against deception.

Good article! If Satan can get people to not believe in him and not believe in hell, he's got it made. Harold Camping teaches annihilation instead of hell. What precisely is the incentive to turn to God from our sins if there is no threat of punishment? What people fail to realize is that hell is where God is not. And removing God means removing hope and any restraint that any demons or evil humans presently have imposed upon them. They will help create their own hell by virtue of non-interference by God. Where is justice for martyred Christians if their murderers were to be welcomed into heaven after living a life of rejecting God and persecuting those who do worship Him. There wouldn't be any. People fail to realize God is not only love, but He is also justice. If people would read their Bibles they wouldn't believe this garbage, but sadly, people are too lazy and it is easier to let someone tell them what it says. Unfortunately on Judgment Day that excuse is not going to fly with God.

I’m impressed, I must say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a blog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you could have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is excellent; the problem is something that not enough individuals are talking intelligently about. I'm very glad that I stumbled throughout this in my search for one thing regarding this.

Hello!
Glad you enjoyed it. It is so important to keep Christ at the center of our celebration. It is difficult to break away from the worldly traditions, but so worth it when you do.

Thanks for your comment! It's a tough topic because turning the other cheek when personally attacked is not in our nature. With God's help and power we are able to overcome our fleshly desire to retaliate in kind or even to seek vengeance. Each of these is a sinful response. Better to act in accordance with God's way and receive the blessing.
